| House in Nantucket |

This project occupies land on a new subdivision in ‘Sconset, on the Atlantic coast of Nantucket, at the end of a cul-de-sac. The house refers to the nineteenth century Shingle Style which was often used in resort areas, as well as harking back further to the shingled whaling cottages native to the island.
The house is distinguished by sweeping porches accentuating the open plan of the house, as well as by the tower element which mediates between the orientation of the house, determined by maximum exposure to light and views, and the location of the house on a cul-de-sac.
