Davison Penthouse

This two-bedroom penthouse apartment on upper Park Avenue was designed for a young family in which both parents often wish to work at home. The apartment was completely renovated in order to allow for frequent dinner parties and guests.

The hidden bookcase allows access to a guest room and can also function as a den. The dining banquette is fully built in for efficient use of space and intimacy of dining. A dressing room provides an unexpected "hall of mirrors" entry into the master bedroom.

The Home office is divided from the living room by a sliding door that can be closed for acoustic privacy when working. The office allows for two people to work together and provides filling cabinets, business machines and other required office functions within a domestic aesthetic that is consistent with the rest of the apartment.

The home office is also designed to be a pleasant space to be in for extended periods. A double window faces West over Central Park, and the glass panes of the sliding door allow in light from the living room.
