Kaufman Apartment

A large Park Avenue apartment was totally renovated to provide a new grand entrance hall and reception rooms with a new service wing and master bedroom suite. Major architectural modifications were made to improve circulation between the rooms, reduce corridor lengths and give new scale and identity to the residence.

New openings between rooms were created that emphasize the spaciousness of the apartment and increase its livability. At the same time individual rooms were given separate atmospheric personalities, from the crisp Aegean blue entrance hall with its black and white marble floor, to the gold dining room furnished with Russian Biedermeier pieces, to the interconnected honey-colored anigre paneled library and pale linen and cream living room with its dramatic view over the Avenue.

The master bedroom suite was reconfigured from several separate smaller bedrooms, storage spaces and bathrooms, to provide two new bathrooms, separate dressing rooms, sitting room and master bedroom.
