Lofts

Lofts are old industrial spaces located in areas which have experienced urban transformation. Typically, the original industrial use is no longer tenable and real estate prices have risen, making development of these buildings feasible for luxury residential construction. The spaces frequently offer large, raw open areas and industrial-looking windows with tall ceilings. The historical context of lofts and the scale of the available openness tends to give rise to an abstract design vocabulary that often makes reference to industrial materials, although in a way that is compatible with the upscale nature of these transformed spaces. Lofts are also well suited to a work environment and can accomodate the blending of living and working requirements.
