This new 4,500 sq ft house is built on the far side of a lake and has access by boat only. It is of dove-tailed log construction and is based on the historical Quebec manoir, the seigneurial residence of ancient Quebec. The house is also designed, however, to be as open as possible to nature and is surrounded on three sides by extensive screen porches. Huge expanses of glass provide panoramic vistas of the lake, while the interior is embellished with maple and ash trees taken from the site and integrated into the stairs, cabinetwork and fireplace. The house is connected to a guesthouse by a 60' long suspension bridge.
